Wartan Supports U.S. Launch of One Feeds Two Initiative
Patrick Wartan, chair of Taft’s Food and Beverage Group, is a co-founder of the U.S. branch of One Feeds Two. The nonprofit brings together food companies, feeding charities and consumers to give nutritious school meals to children living in some of the poorest countries in the world. The meals help these children attend school and gain an education rather than working or scavenging for food.
One Feeds Two challenges businesses and suppliers to adopt a ‘buy one give one’ model when selling food and in turn, help children threatened by hunger. For every purchase of a product or meal carrying the One Feeds Two logo, a child in poverty is fed a meal at school.
Wartan launched the nonprofit with assistance by David Sloan, founder and former executive of Naf Naf and Franklin Wiener, former Naf Naf COO. The U.S. launch has received recent media coverage from the following outlets:
- “Can Naf Naf’s success be repeated?” Crain’s Chicago Business
- “Former Naf Naf Execs Announce 3 New Projects” QSR Magazine
Wartan has extensive experience counseling multi-unit restaurant and bar operators on matters relating to financing arrangements, liquor licensing, mergers and acquisitions, real estate and general corporate governance in jurisdictions from coast to coast. He earned his J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2010.
