Summary
Chris is an experienced tax, trusts and estates, and probate lawyer repeatedly recognized as a rising star in the field. Highly regarded for his skill in advising on complex trust and estate matters for ultra-high net worth individuals, Chris provides incisive counsel on all aspects of estate planning, trust administration, business succession planning, and estate and gift tax, income, transfer, and property tax matters. His experience also includes helping clients form private foundations, counseling clients on foreign and domestics assets, representing clients in federal tax audits and property tax assessment appeals, and resolving tax controversies.
Chris is adept at utilizing a wide variety of trusts to accomplish his clients’ estate planning goals and minimize their tax liability. His experience includes charitable lead and charitable remainder trusts, GRATs, IDGTs, BDITs, QPRTs, SLATs, and ILITs.
Chris received his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, with Trial Advocacy Honors from Tulane University Law School where he was the Articles Editor of the Tulane Journal of International and Comparative Law and served as a taxation research assistant. Before attending law school, Chris worked in the banking and financial services industry and spent two years living and working in Seoul, South Korea. He has volunteered with Lawyers Without Borders, Common Ground Legal Clinic, Metro Volunteer Lawyers, and Colorado Lawyers Committee and served on the boards of Redwood Empire Estate Planning Council, Oaks Of Hebron, Hessel Church, and Primavera Place.
