Dan is a partner in the Real Estate practice group. He is certified as a real property law specialist by the Minnesota State Bar Association.
Dan practices principally in the areas of:
- Commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions

- Easements, declarations and restrictive covenants
Dan concentrates a significant portion of his practice on representing corporate clients, developers and investment funds in the acquisition, financing, development and sale of large-scale projects located throughout the country, including class A office, retail, industrial, residential, and mixed-use sites. He assists clients with all aspects of a transaction, from negotiating and drafting purchase and sale documents, addressing title and survey issues prior to acquisition, negotiating and documenting financing before, during and following construction, to handling development and land use issues.
Dan also has significant experience representing borrowers in the securing of financing for office, condo and apartment buildings, industrial complexes, and retail and mixed-use developments; and negotiating and documenting a multitude of loan types, including acquisition, construction and permanent financing.
In the area of commercial leasing, Dan works with both landlords and tenants on a variety of landlord/tenant documentation, drafting and negotiating leases, subleases, assignments, guarantees and letters of credit.
Dan also drafts and negotiates easements, declarations, restrictive covenants, property management agreements, listing agreements and other real estate-related documents for clients.
In the community, Dan volunteers his legal skills to a large, local nonprofit organization that provides affordable housing to low-income families. He provides counsel on the negotiation and drafting of purchase agreements, municipal agreements, development agreements, restrictive covenants and easements, and resolving title matters.
Dan has also been a part of the Volunteer Lawyers Network Housing Court Project, offering advice to parties with matters before the Hennepin County Housing Court.
