Summary
Derrick is a patent agent based in Taft’s Indianapolis office. As a registered patent agent with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Derrick prepares, drafts and prosecutes patent applications on behalf of his clients. He has extensive experience in the electrical, telecommunications, computer science networks, mechanical and electromechanical industries.
Prior to joining Taft, Derrick was a patent agent with a law firm and lobbying group in Washington, D.C. He received his J.D. from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, his master’s degree in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and his bachelor’s degree from the Southern University and A&M College at Baton Rouge.
