Emily Elmer

Summary

Emily is a litigation attorney in the Southfield office practicing real estate and commercial law. She represents both commercial and residential clients in disputes involving breach of contract, property boundaries, zoning regulations, land use and lease agreements. She helps clients overcome title disputes, including quiet title actions, adverse possession claims and conducts thorough title examinations. She negotiates contractual disputes between co-owners and property owners, contractors and subcontractors in construction-related disputes. She also represents a variety of commercial clients in breach of contract disputes.

Emily earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. She holds a bachelor’s degree in integrative studies from Oakland University and an executive certificate in negotiation from the University of Notre Dame. While in law school, Emily was the Fundraising Committee Chair of the Black Law Students Association, Executive Director of Internal Competitions for the Moot Court Board of Advocates, and served as a law clerk for Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s Office of Legal Counsel.

In addition to her busy practice, Emily is a Trustee for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
