Gregory J. O'Brien

For 30 years, Greg has successfully represented private and public entities in transactional, corporate governance, zoning, real estate, and litigation-avoidance strategies. In his practice, he offers strategic counsel to companies and C-suite executives on contract negotiations, employment compensation arrangements, labor and employment, commercial disputes, and velocity and growth acquisitions.

Clients consider Greg a valuable partner who brings real business acumen to his practice. He often acts as outside general counsel to many corporations and limited liability companies including, national distributors, crypto-currency operations, protective ballistics manufacturers, medical marijuana cultivators and processors, financial services, and governmental entities, including the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, in matters involving federal lending law.

Since 2003, Greg has also served as the Law Director of the City of Independence, Ohio. In addition to having over 7,600 residents, Independence is home to one of the largest business corridors in Northeast Ohio consisting of corporate headquarters, service-related businesses, and light industrial companies.

In addition, for most of his professional career, Greg has successfully represented the Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District in establishing and maintaining effective and efficient quality initiatives for environmentally friendly programs, including waste management and recycling.
