Summary

Hilary is ranked by Chambers USA in Construction Law and is a board-certified construction lawyer by the Florida Bar, based in part on taking a competitive construction law bar exam. After more than a decade practicing construction law, Hilary has gained an appreciation of the intricacies of conflicting priorities on large construction projects, which enables her to partner with her clients to help navigate their legal needs.

Hilary represents contractors, subcontractors, owners, developers, architects, engineers, consultants, suppliers, and others in all aspects of construction law. She handles a full range of construction issues, including liens, surety bonds, contracts, delay, scheduling, insurance, construction defects, bid protests, licensing, and other related issues. She represents clients in litigation and arbitration, as well as outside of litigation, such as claims avoidance, contract review and drafting, resolving change order or site condition disputes, and other disputes arising on-site.

Clients appreciate Hilary’s ability to jump into issues, learning the language and real-world aspects, facts, and tangible arguments to offer multiple solutions and guidance for the best outcomes. This is perhaps due in part to her family’s background in construction: her father was a general contractor and architect, and her sister and brother-in-law are both civil engineers. She appreciates her clients’ need for efficient, cost-effective outcomes, and her forward-looking approach helps her clients avoid potential issues in the future.
