Summary

James is an associate in Taft’s Real Estate practice group.

Raised in a small mountain community, James went on to receive a bachelor’s and master’s degree in political science. After graduating, he spent four years teaching English at public junior high schools in the Kanto region of Japan before repatriating to attend law school at the University of Denver.

James helps clients accomplish their transactional real estate goals by navigating complex local, state and federal legal and regulatory landscapes to offer comprehensive legal counsel on a variety of issues, including leases, conveyances, land use, entitlements, title and survey review, risk management, third party access and use agreements, community rules and regulations, due diligence, commercial financing, and more.

Prior to joining Taft, James served as an extern at the Colorado Supreme Court and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Outside of the office, James enjoys cooking, motorcycling, and skiing.
