Jeanette West

Jeanette is a paralegal in Taft’s Cleveland office where she supports the firm’s business and finance practice group attorneys. She brings over 20 years of legal experience to her position.

Jeanette previously served as a labor and employment law, estate planning, and workers’ compensation paralegal at three Cleveland area law firms. She also has vast experience in civil litigation and corporate law. Jeanette has assisted with the negotiation and drafting of legal contracts for real estate acquisitions and the preparation of corporate documents.

In addition to supporting law firm practices during her career, Jeanette was entrusted with confidential corporate information while working directly for the general counsel and vice presidents at two national corporations in the greater Cleveland area, responding to the legal challenges and complexities of working for a national company operating in every state. She was also responsible for corporate state filings, regulatory filings, establishing and maintaining contractor licenses for various trades in over 11 states, as well as preparing stock certificates, shareholder ledgers and journals, corporate resolutions, and assisting with corporate transactions, contracts, and litigation. Jeanette was the corporate e-verify program administrator and corporate representative for all service of process. 

Jeanette worked as a paralegal for an international business that supplies skilled labor employees to construction, manufacturing, and marine businesses. She also previously worked as a paralegal and legal secretary for a distributor of propane used for heating homes throughout many states. 

Jeanette earned her paralegal certificate from the Southeastern Paralegal Institute’s American Bar Association approved paralegal program. She graduated with honors and with a 4.0 GPA.
