Summary
Jim is Director of Recruiting and Associate Advancement at Taft. In this multi-faceted role, he supports associates and associate-development strategies, goals, and objectives across the firm. This includes guiding and mentoring associates throughout their career stages, matching associates to work opportunities with an eye toward achieving a purposeful and equitable distribution of work assignments, contributing to firm-wide initiatives and programs designed to enhance associate development and retention, and partnering with firm leaders to strategically support overall associate advancement. In addition, Jim oversees law student recruiting and the summer associate programs in Taft’s Cincinnati, Columbus, and Dayton markets.
Prior to joining Taft, Jim was the Director of Professional Development for the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where he counseled students and alumni regarding career strategy and designed and implemented strategic job placement initiatives. Before this, Jim practiced real estate law and civil litigation at a regional law firm based in Cincinnati.
Jim earned his J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law and is actively involved in the community. He currently serves as an Ambassador for the Reds Community Fund Joe Morgan Academy and is a founder and board member of Cincinnati Lab Rescue. Jim is also an active member of the Cincinnati City Council Animal Task Force.
