Summary

John is an associate in the Indianapolis office and focuses his practice on intellectual property. His experience includes preparing patent applications, prosecuting patent applications before the USPTO, drafting patentability opinions of disclosures, and preparing patent claim charts in patent litigation. Prior to law school, John worked as a quality development engineer for an automotive OEM for two years.

During law school, John was part of a USPTO National Patent Application Drafting Competition team, which presented an application to practitioners, and was the regional runner-up. He was also a judicial extern to the Hon. James R. Sweeney II, Southern District of Indiana, and served as the executive editor of the Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies. John also competed in the University of Oxford International Law IP Moot as part of a team. He received his J.D. from Indiana University Maurer School of Law and his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Ohio University.

He is currently licensed to practice law in the state of Ohio and before the USPTO. His Indiana license is pending.
