Steven McIlwain

As Controller at Taft, Steven reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and oversees the day-to-day accounting operations of the firm, including financial reporting, month-end close, treasury management, budgeting, partner compensation analysis, and audit coordination.

Prior to joining the firm, Steven was the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis for a publicly traded infrastructure construction company. He began his career by spending over five years in public accounting in PwC’s Assurance Practice, performing financial statement audits for a variety of publicly traded and privately held clients in the manufacturing, insurance, and healthcare industries. Steven is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Master’s degree in Accounting and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Operations Management from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
