Summary

Tara focuses her practice in the areas of intellectual property litigation and transaction counseling. Her litigation experience includes handling patent, trademark, copyright, unfair competition, and trade secret litigation as well as general (breach of contract, products liability and labor and employment) litigation matters in federal district and state court proceedings throughout the country. Tara is also skilled in helping clients develop and implement settlement agreements that preserve their businesses’ best interests.

Tara recognizes that every client is unique and develops and implements a tailored intellectual property and litigation strategy for each client’s particular needs. In dispute matters, she helps clients identify the specific case strategy that will be most useful for them while taking into account any budgetary constraints. Tara handles a broad spectrum of industries and technologies: including, consumer electronics (mobile phones, digital televisions, computers, printers, routers), medical devices, chemical, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, automotive, consumer products, trailer suspension systems, semiconductors, marine electronics, telecommunications (cellular communication systems, Wi-Fi), and software (medical systems, banking, retail, targeted advertising, sales lead generation, data aggregation)..

In addition, Tara assists clients with the development and licensing of intellectual property. She drafts licensing agreements, collaborative development agreements, software licensing agreements, nondisclosure agreements, and other technology-related agreements.

Beyond her litigation and licensing work, Tara also supports clients in developing comprehensive strategies to protect their intellectual property. This includes managing all aspects of patent prosecution, including conducting and reviewing patentability searches, preparing patent applications, office actions, and other submissions in both the United States and internationally.
