Theodore M. Gelderman

Summary

Theodore is an associate in Taft’s Minneapolis office and focuses his practice on all aspects of intellectual property law, including trademark litigation, prosecution, and counseling, copyright and patent matters, and corporate due diligence matters.

Prior to joining Taft, Theodore served as a judicial extern for the Hon. Anna Loftus, Cook County Circuit Court Chancery Division. Before his starting his law career, Theodore had a technical background working in biology and chemistry labs. He has conducted organic chemistry research through a National Science Foundation research grant, resulting in a published scientific publication.

Theodore earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago School, and his bachelor’s degree in biology, cum laude, from Carleton College. While in law school, he was an Executive Editor of the Loyola Law Journal and a brief writer for the National Moot Court team. He has served as a case manager at Loyola Legal Clinic and as an Equal Justice America Fellow at Equip for Equality.

Theodore is licensed to practice law in Illinois and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and District of Colorado only.
