Tom helps clients in many industries, including food & beverage and agribusiness. His experience includes advising, negotiating, and closing a variety of deals and agreements, including those involving business purchases and sales, intellectual property (IP), information technology (IT), renewable energy, financing/loans, buy-side (supplier/procurement), sales-side (sales/broker/distribution), logistics (transportation), real estate, commercial construction, and e-commerce.
Tom’s clients appreciate his perspective because he addresses legal issues and sees beyond them to identify business, organization, and leadership needs. From start-ups to huge global matrixed organizations to e-commerce to non-profits, he focuses on practical, real-world solutions so his clients can focus on what matters most to them – running their business. He also anticipates their future needs and proactively addresses them, which has made him a trusted adviser with longstanding relationships with his clients.
Before joining the firm, Tom served as senior corporate counsel to a global agribusiness/food company, an IT procurement leader, and a national sales leader for health, specialty, and commodity food ingredient sales teams. In addition to practicing law, he has held sales and marketing roles for an auto manufacturer and a pharmaceutical company and runs his own solar equipment e-commerce business.
