Thomas S. Welty

Tom is an associate at Taft focusing his practice on business law. He focuses primarily on advising clients in merger and acquisition transactions across a wide array of industries with a focus on health care. He advises a variety of health care clients on corporate and transactional matters such as acquisitions, divestitures, and recapitalizations. Tom’s representation has also included private equity firms, publicly and privately-held companies, and higher education institutions. He also regularly counsels clients with their outside general counsel duties, including general corporate and commercial law and business advisory services.

Tom regularly volunteers with LegalCORPS, providing business transactional services to pro bono clients that include low-income owners of small businesses, small nonprofit organizations, and low-income innovators.
